This class is best for those with some familiarity with sewing. The Passport Cover class will allow participants to create something a bit more complex. There will be expanded explanations of leather working tools and terms and an incorporation of very basic tooling if desired. Participants will be given instruction on the best way to cut material then asked to cut their own projects to size. There will also be a variety of dyes available to “finish” the project.

In order to gain part-time access to The Foundry's Woodshop, you must pass a safety certification. This class will be 3 1/2 hours and will walk you through how to use all major power tools as well as discuss The Foundry policies. At the end, you will have a completed small cheese board and ability to use the woodshop on a part-time basis.

Stud Closed Wallet
This class is designed to build on early lessons by using a simple platform to dive into different stitching techniques and allow for more creativity in overall design. Participants will be introduced to new types of hardware and briefly touch upon uses for glue. Dyes will be provided, tooling and monograming will be demonstrated. Class is suitable for those who have taken a beginner leather class at The Foundry or those who have strong hand sewing skills.

This larger project focuses heavily on stitching techniques and dying. Participants will be given a piece of material to work with and will be creating the bag from the ground up. Participants will dye/ tool each piece then plot out and build the project. While constructing new terms and types of hardware will be introduced. The final project will measure roughly 16”x 10”.

A great mother or father's day present! This is a fast version of our regular hardwood cutting board class. All wood is pre-cut for you to speed up the process.

In this class you will:

This is an advanced class that requires skills that have been taught in earlier classes. Most of the time will be dedicated towards construction. The instructor will discuss different leathers, and how to choose the right material for future projects. Tool usage will also be covered more in depth so that participants feel confident knowing what to use when. After a basic refresher in stitching and hardware, the instructor will demonstrate ways to plan out large paneled projects. Upon completion of this class each participant should be comfortable with stitching and installing hardware, dying and gluing, and have a good understanding of the fundamentals of constructing multiple paneled pieces.

Make your own statement piece! Learn to build and upholster your very own footstool with Sarah Campbell owner of Sit Buffalo, a small business resident of The Foundry.
Things You Will Learn:
- How to web and properly pad and cushion an upholstery project
- Material options and techniques for upholstery
- How to make upholstered buttons
- Sewing by machine and hand
**Fabric needs to be supplied by the student (1 yard of upholstery is required. Please contact Sarah at firstname.lastname@example.org with questions)**
This project is for you, and it is important that you love what you are making! Tools, cushioning/padding, and all other hardware and materials will be provided.
Class price includes 6 hours of instruction and a finished footstool to take home. It's recommended that you bring some snacks or a full lunch with you for a midway 30 minute lunch break.
