Dream Builders

We’re offering a free opportunity for middle schoolers to join us at The Foundry for our Dream Builders STEAM Program this Saturday!

The Dream Builders STEAM program is an innovative educational initiative aimed at middle school students. It focuses on engaging youth with STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) through hands-on learning and exploration.

Schedule:

9:30-11:30 Students will be introduced to the challenge, and work in groups to design and build their solution.

11:30-12 Parents are invited to join back in, have their child teach them about problem solving, and get in on the fun! Parents are not required to attend this portion, but it is a nice way to connect with your child and be proud of the things they've learned in the session.

Structure:

  • Challenge: Students take on a fun challenge—build a Rube Goldberg Machine and discover how chain reactions work!
  • Hands-On Learning: Students use tools at The Foundry to apply knowledge in real-world projects.
  • Exploration and Innovation: This program lets students explore, experiment, and find creative solutions, helping them understand STEAM concepts and inspiring a lifelong love of learning

Target Audience:

  • Middle school youth (5-8th grade) in the city of Buffalo with an interest in STEAM fields.
  • Students looking to gain hands-on experience and enhance their practical skills.
