The Foundry's Response to Coronavirus

The Foundry's Board of Directors and Staff work hard to make sure The Foundry is a welcoming space for everyone to explore making and entrepreneurship. It is with heavy, but determined hearts that we make necessary difficult decisions in alignment with recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Erie County Department of Health in an effort to curb the spread of the coronavirus locally.

With the announcement that schools in Western New York will be closed until at least late April, our youth programs will also be rescheduled or canceled. Our adult classes and April Fools' team-building challenge, ToolFest, are postponed and rescheduling will be reassessed in late April. Essential functions, like building maintenance and cleaning, will continue at The Foundry, but we are taking recommended precautions to ensure our health and safety as well as the health and safety of The Foundry's small business tenants and community members is preserved as much as possible.

Many of our business tenants are economically vulnerable and will suffer loss of income. We hope to remain open for them to access their individual business spaces during this difficult time. If ever there was a time to support local - take a look at our current list of tenants and consider supporting them!

Since Monday, March 16th, The Foundry is implementing a work from home policy. The physical office will be closed until further notice, but all staff will be available via email. To get in touch with our team, please email us at [email protected] and the email will be forwarded to the relevant staff member.

Our mission is to increase individual prosperity through maker education and entrepreneurship. We remain committed to being mission-oriented and to share maker education and entrepreneurship resources virtually. Please connect with us on Facebook,Instagram, orTwitter. We will be regularly sharing maker resources and activities that you can use to stay active during this turbulent time!

Thank you for supporting us during this difficult and ever-evolving situation. We hope to see you back at The Foundry in the near future!
