A "Work Day" at The Foundry is more like a "hands-on maintenance party." It’s the time when we tackle the bigger projects that keep our makerspaces - wood, metal, tech, and textile and building running smoothly.
Here is what you can expect when you join us:
Facility Upkeep and Repairs: Since we are a community-based makerspace, things get a lot of wear and tear! We often need help with repairing or helping with small-scale construction projects.
Tidying and Organizing: We spend time sorting through donated materials, organizing tool walls, and deep-cleaning the makerspaces to keep everything accessible.
Outdoor Projects: During the warmer months, we move outside for Gardening and Landscaping like weeding, mulching, and planting. We also focus on Patio Maintenance to keep our outdoor space clean and usable.
Community and Connection: It’s not just about the work! You’ll meet other local makers, entrepreneurs, and community members. Come for the projects, stay for the people!

The Foundry is looking for skilled makers interested in supervising our shared makerspaces. If you love creating and helping others, this is the perfect way to get involved!
As a Volunteer Supervisor, you’ll help by spreading enthusiasm for making, offering advice on projects when asked, and helping everyone stay safe while using the tools. It’s all about fostering a supportive environment where creativity can thrive.
In return for your time and expertise, Volunteer Supervisors are granted complimentary access to use our makerspaces during Open Maker Hours!We are currently seeking supervisors/instructors for our:
Community and Connection: It’s not just about the work! You’ll meet other local makers, entrepreneurs, and community members. Come for the projects, stay for the people!

If you have experience in business-related services or have navigated the ups and downs of running your own small business, we’d love to have you share that wisdom. We are looking for a small but meaningful commitment of just 1-2 hours per month, plus a quarterly meeting to stay up-to-date with everything happening at The Foundry.
With a total commitment of only 15-20 hours annually, you can make a lasting impact on a budding entrepreneur's journey.
